🔌 Connected Accounts & File Automation
Connect your business tools once in Settings → Connected Accounts, and let AMBA automatically pull files, spreadsheets, and contracts into your projects—without ever having to upload documents by hand.
Connected accounts are what processes use: a Telegram group or a Drive folder becomes a file source of a project, and reports go out to people through your Telegram bot.
⚡ Overview: The 3 Ways to Connect
AMBA gives you three simple, flexible ways to connect your documents and team workflows:
| Connector | Best For | Setup Time | Key Benefit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 📁 Google Drive | Shared team folders, cloud sheets & financial models | 30 seconds | 1-Click Google Sign-In — browse and sync your Drive folders directly. |
| ✈️ Telegram Bot | Invoices, receipts & field reports from team chat groups | 1 minute | Hands-Off Auto-Capture — team drops files in group chat; AMBA grabs them instantly. |
| 💻 Local Cloud Folder | Desktop OneDrive, Google Drive for Desktop, or Dropbox | 15 seconds | Zero-Cloud Speed — instant sync with files already on your computer. |
Set Up Once, Use Everywhere
You only need to connect an account once in global Settings. After that, you can use it across as many different projects as you need.
1. Connecting Google Drive (1-Click Setup)
Google Drive lets you pull company spreadsheets, PDF contracts, and shared folders into any project, or let a process collect every file your accountant drops into a Drive folder.
Step-by-Step Setup:
- In AMBA, click the Settings tab in the left sidebar, then select Connected Accounts.
- Click Add Connected Account → select Google Drive.
- Click Sign in with Google.
- Your default browser opens Google's own sign-in page. Sign in, review the permissions (read your Drive files, see your email address) and click Continue. If Google shows "Google hasn't verified this app", click Advanced → Go to AMBA: this appears while the app is in Google's testing phase.
- The browser shows Authentication Successful. Return to AMBA: your account name and email appear. Your sign-in is stored in your operating system's keychain.
First sign-in on Windows
The browser that opens is your default browser (Edge, Chrome…). AMBA only listens on 127.0.0.1 for a few minutes during sign-in, so Windows Defender Firewall normally asks nothing. If a security tool still asks, choose Allow for private networks. You have 5 minutes to finish the sign-in.
When sign-in fails
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Access blocked: AMBA has not completed the Google verification process | While AMBA is in testing, only Google accounts on its test user list can sign in. Ask the AMBA team to add your Google account, then try again. |
| Error 400: redirect_uri_mismatch or "no valid Google sign-in setup" | Your copy of AMBA lacks the official sign-in setup. Install the official release, or enter your company's own Desktop app client under Manual API Configuration (Advanced). |
| This app is blocked (company Google Workspace) | Your Workspace administrator must allow AMBA. |
| No answer after 5 minutes | Close the browser tab and click Sign in with Google again. |
"Needs sign-in"
Google can stop accepting a saved sign-in: while AMBA is in testing it expires after 7 days, and it also stops when you remove AMBA's access in your Google account or change your password. AMBA then marks the account Needs sign-in and shows a banner in Connected Accounts; every process that reads from that account shows Needs attention: Google needs you to sign in again with a Sign in again button on its card. Sign in with the same Google account: the processes continue with the same folder.
Drive folders as file sources
A Drive folder that a process collects from is a file source of the project (see Processes). AMBA checks it about every minute while it runs:
- A source can take the files already in the folder once, on its first check; afterwards only new or changed files arrive.
- Subfolders up to 3 levels deep are read too (for example
Tháng 10/07-10). The subfolder name helps AMBA tell which business day a file belongs to. - Google Sheets, Docs and Slides arrive as
.xlsx,.docxand.pptx. Shortcuts are followed to their file; a shortcut to a deleted or unshared file, and Google Forms, are skipped with a note. - Folders with many files are read completely (every page), and a file that is already in the day folder with the same content is not saved twice.
Drive folders watched by an earlier version of AMBA were moved to file sources automatically. Adding a new Drive folder as a source is not available in this version yet.
Advanced Enterprise Google Accounts
If your company requires its own Google Cloud OAuth client instead of AMBA's, create a client of type Desktop app and enter its Client ID & Secret under Manual API Configuration (Advanced) in the setup dialog.
2. Connecting Telegram (Automated Group File Intake)
With Telegram, your team or suppliers can simply drop invoices, photos of receipts, or operational updates into a Telegram group chat. AMBA listens in the background and pulls those files directly into your designated project folder.
Step-by-Step Setup:
1. Create your Bot (Takes 1 minute)
- Open Telegram on your phone or computer, search for
@BotFather, and click Start. - Type
/newbotand follow the prompts:- Give your bot a name (e.g.
Acme Assistant). - Give your bot a username ending in
bot(e.g.AcmeExecutiveBot).
- Give your bot a name (e.g.
@BotFatherwill give you an API Token (a string like123456789:ABCdefGhIJKlmNoPQRsTUVwxyZ). Copy this token.
2. Save in AMBA
- In AMBA, go to Settings → Connected Accounts → Add Connected Account → Telegram.
- Paste your API Token into the field and click Test & Auto-Detect.
- AMBA will instantly verify your bot's name. Click Save Account.
3. Add the Bot to Your Group Chat
- Open the Telegram group chat you want to connect (e.g. Accounting, Operations, or Executive Board).
- Add your new bot as a member of the group.
- Important: Promote the bot to Admin (with "Read Messages" permission). This allows Telegram to let the bot see document attachments sent to the group.
4. Use the group in a process
- Open your project → Processes tab.
- Write the process and name the group the way you call it, for example "collect the reports from the accounting team at 2 pm…".
- AMBA asks which group you mean and lists the groups your bot has seen by name: tap yours. A group the bot has not seen yet: tap Connect a new Telegram group, send one message in the group and tap Reload.
The group becomes a file source of the project: from now on, files sent there land in the project's Sources within about a minute and appear there by business day. The former "Import Documents → Telegram → Save Ingestion Rule" rules were moved to file sources automatically.
3. Connecting a Local Cloud Folder (Desktop Sync)
If you already use Google Drive for Desktop, Microsoft OneDrive, or Dropbox, your cloud files are already stored locally on your hard drive (for example, in ~/Google Drive/ or C:\Users\Name\OneDrive\).
Connecting this folder gives you the best of both worlds:
- ⚡ Instant Transfers: Zero upload or download wait times.
- 🔒 100% Offline & Private: Works even without internet access.
- ♾️ No Cloud API Quotas: Sync as many gigabytes as your computer can hold.
Step-by-Step Setup:
- In AMBA, open Settings → Connected Accounts → Add Connected Account → Local Cloud Folder.
- Click Browse and select your synchronized cloud folder on your computer.
- Click Save Account. Done!
4. How to Use Files in Your Projects
Once your accounts are connected, managing files in AMBA is seamless and intuitive.
📥 1. Adding files by hand
- Open any project in AMBA.
- In the file tree, open the ⋯ menu of a section and choose Upload Files.
- Pick the files on your computer. They appear in the project right away, ready for the agent.
Files from Telegram groups and Drive folders arrive by themselves in Sources (sources/<source>/<YYYY-MM-DD>/) once they are a project's file source (see Processes).
🤖 2. Automatic Document Grounding
You don't need to manually read or summarize imported files:
- Spreadsheets (
.xlsx,.csv) are automatically indexed with full formula recognition. - PDF documents and scanned flyers/receipts are automatically processed with built-in Apple Vision OCR.
- Word documents (
.docx) and slide decks (.pptx) are ready for instant executive analysis. - Simply ask the AI assistant: "Summarize the financial statements in Sources" or "Extract payment terms from the newly imported contract".
📤 3. Sending results
Reports reach people through a process: its send step delivers the summary and the files it made to a person or a group through your Telegram bot (for example "…then at 4 pm summarize the reports and send them to me"). The former one-click "Dispatch Deliverable" button and its Drive and local-folder destinations were removed.
🛡️ Enterprise Security & Privacy
AMBA is built from the ground up as a local-first desktop platform. We take your privacy and business confidentiality seriously:
- OS Keychain Storage: Your bot tokens and Google credentials are stored only in your operating system's keychain (macOS Keychain, Windows Credential Manager, Secret Service on Linux). They are never saved in plain text; if no keychain is available, the connection is not saved.
- 100% Local File Storage: Documents never pass through any intermediate cloud servers. Your files move directly between your computer and your connected services (Google Drive / Telegram).
- No Inbound Network Ports: AMBA does not run a web server. Only during Google sign-in does it listen on
127.0.0.1(your own computer, unreachable from the network) for the browser's answer, and it closes that port right after. - Sandboxed Project Boundaries: The AI agent can only read files within your project folder. It cannot touch or modify any other files on your computer.
